Welcome to Alife Virtual. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Alife Virtual ("we," "us," "our") governing your use of our virtual world, website, viewer software, and all related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, logging in, or using any part of our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our Services.

2. User Accounts and Eligibility

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use our Services. By registering, you represent and warrant that you are a legal adult in your jurisdiction. We reserve the right to terminate, without notice, any account belonging to or suspected of belonging to a user under the age of 18.
• Age Verification: We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time. Failure to provide satisfactory age verification may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
• Parental Controls: Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to use available parental control software to prevent minors from accessing this platform. Alife Virtual bears no responsibility for minor access that results from inadequate household supervision.
• Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Code of Conduct

You are solely responsible for your conduct and content within the Services. You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Illegal Activities: Using the Services to conduct or promote any activity that is illegal under local, national, or international law.
• Harassment and Abuse: Harassing, threatening, stalking, defaming, or abusing other users. This includes hate speech based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
• Child Endangerment & Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Creating, sharing, distributing, or engaging with any content that depicts, simulates, or involves minors in a sexual, romantic, or exploitative manner is strictly and absolutely forbidden. This includes, without limitation: uploading or displaying child-like avatars in any adult or sexual context, roleplaying as a minor in a sexual or romantic scenario, using diminutive or childlike avatar shapes/skins in adult-rated regions, and any digital artwork, animation, or imagery that sexualizes individuals who appear to be under 18. Violations will result in immediate and permanent account termination and will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities, including but not limited to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant international agencies.
• Intellectual Property Infringement: Uploading, sharing, or using content that you do not own or have the legal right to use (see Section 4).
• Disruptive Behavior: Intentionally causing regions or the grid to lag or crash (e.g., through scripted attacks), or engaging in excessive spamming.
• Impersonation: Impersonating another person, a staff member of Alife Virtual, or a celebrity.

Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in temporary suspension or permanent termination of your account at our sole discretion.

4. Content and Intellectual Property Rights

A. Your User-Generated Content

You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights to the content you create and upload to the Services (e.g., 3D models, textures, scripts, animations). By uploading your content, you grant Alife Virtual a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content as necessary to provide and promote the Services.

B. Respect for Copyright (Copyright Infringement Policy)

You agree not to upload content that infringes on the copyrights of others. If you are a copyright holder and believe your work has been infringed upon, please provide us with a notice containing the following information:

• A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
• The in-world location (Region and coordinates) of the infringing material.
• Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address).
• A statement by you that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner.
• A statement by you, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Please send this notice to us via our Helpdesk Page. Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the infringing material.

5. Adult Content

Content and activities intended for mature audiences (sexual, violent, or otherwise explicit material) are permitted only in regions designated as "Adult." All other regions must be kept appropriate for general (non-sexual, non-explicit) adult audiences. As a region owner, you are responsible for:

• Correctly rating your region (General, Moderate, or Adult) in accordance with its actual content.
• Implementing appropriate access controls (such as access lists or age-gate scripts) to restrict entry to verified adult users only.
• Ensuring that no Adult-rated content (including explicit textures, scripts, animations, or objects) is visible from adjacent non-Adult regions.

Failure to properly manage region ratings and access controls may result in region shutdown and account termination.

5A. Strict Prohibition on Child Content and Non-18+ Avatars

• Child Avatars: The use of any avatar that has the appearance, proportions, or characteristics of a person under the age of 18 is strictly forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: small or child-scaled avatar bodies, childlike facial features combined with undersized proportions, school uniforms or childlike clothing in sexual contexts, and any avatar shape or skin marketed as representing a minor.
• Non-18+ Avatar Representations: All avatars used on the platform must visually represent adults (18 years of age or older). If an avatar's appearance is ambiguous regarding age, users must be able to demonstrate — upon request from staff — that the avatar is intended to represent an adult. When in doubt, staff will treat ambiguous avatars as non-compliant.
• Child-Themed Sexual Content: Any sexual, romantic, or suggestive content involving characters or avatars that appear to be minors, including fictional, animated, or stylized depictions (e.g., anime-style characters with childlike bodies), is strictly prohibited.
• Age-Regression Roleplay in Adult Contexts: Engaging in "age-regression" or "little" roleplay (where an adult pretends to be a child) in any sexual or romantic context is explicitly forbidden.
• Child Content in Adult Regions: Bringing any child avatar, child-like avatar, or minor-representative avatar into an Adult-rated region is forbidden, regardless of the account holder's actual age.
• Distribution of Non-Compliant Content: Selling, gifting, trading, or otherwise distributing avatar shapes, skins, animations, scripts, or any other assets that are designed to represent minors in sexual or adult contexts is strictly prohibited.

Consequence: Violation of any provision in Section 5A will result in immediate, permanent, and non-appealable account termination. We reserve the right to report all violations, including avatar names, account details, and associated evidence, to law enforcement authorities. We cooperate fully with all legal investigations relating to child safety.

6. Termination and Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at our sole discretion, without notice, for any conduct that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise detrimental to the Services.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALIFE VIRTUAL WORLD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
